today was VERY productive. wow.
and i even slept til 9. :)
i drove back from columbia.
i got a job back at hibbett sports.
i ran laundry.
i called my school and set up an appt with my advisor.
i went and got my moms car from the shop.
i went to the mall and bought new pants for my job.
i ran more laundry.
i cleaned up the kitchen after dinner.
i read my bible and talked to Jesus.
tomorrow i need to...
go to the bank.
go talk to crosspoint about workin with the youth group.
find a good study spot and hit the books for a few hours.
run by hibbett and set up direct deposit.
start learning to drive stick. (ok, maybe i should leave something for wednesday...)
this was a very good day.
but the thing that struck me about today...
had i called hibbett and been turned down, i probably would have done nothing with the rest of my day. it would have killed all the momentum i had going for today... just because if i didnt succeed at the job, my natural response is to not try the school... some days are like that for me. i failed at X yesterday, so i cant think of a good reason to try Y today. i know. i know. i shouldnt think that way. and through today, Jesus kinda showed that to me. he was like, each day is its own. each assignment is its own. each chore is its own. reminded me of that verse: "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
dont let the failures of yesterday bridle your momentum for success today.

sometimes when i read my bible, i read looking for answers to my questions.
recently i have had a lot of questions and i want Jesus to answer them, but i want him to give me verses. and so honestly, i get exhausted reading, because i spend all my energy trying to figure out what this verse means to my questions or my situation...
tonight, as im reading my bible and once again 5 verses in and done reading and done thinking and just done, i stop. wait. isnt the bible supposed to tell me about Jesus? ok, let me read these 5 verses over again and see what they have to tell me about Jesus... not what they have to tell me about my questions, my life... ya.
--John 1-- 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
>> Jesus is the Word.
>> Jesus was in the beginning.
>> Jesus is God.
>> Jesus was with God. (he is God and he is with God... ok!)
>> Everything came into being through Jesus.
>> Jesus sustains everything.
>> Jesus is life.
>> Jesus is LIGHT.
:)
