this last week i spent with the youth at camp! :)
**SUMMER SALT!!!**
when josh asked me to go to summersalt with them, i was excited. mostly to get the time with the youth, but Jesus really blessed me through the messages and the worship. and the other girl leader that went loves Jesus so much, it was such a blessing to get to spend the week with her.

there was soooo much that really blessed my heart. i took sooo many notes. :) i dont know what to pick out to put here, so i just wrote them all. if they dont makes sense, sorry. haha.

jesus calls people. he places an authoritative call on peoples lives and its different. his call on my life is him initiating. every other religion is advice, follow these customs... christianity is news. radical impacting news...
he already knows we are not sufficient. he didnt wait for us. he came down to get us. hes not calling me to burden or slavery... its a call to be free from sin. freed from my slavery to sin. gospel is my life. my life is Jesus.
this call is:
durastic. our identity is so wrapped up in what we do. and he calls the disciples away from their identiy... floowing Jesus must be what they are all about. sole identity wrapped up in Him.
if we tell Jesus that we will follow him if... anything on the other side of that if is our real master.
daily. he invites you into a journey and a process. selfishness is our #1 problem.
doable. not something i cant lean on Jesus for. hi call will not crush me...because he was already crushed for me.
this is not a call to slavery and burden, but a call to grace and freedom!
God can redeem situations.
-- wednesday --
jesus is obsessed with lost people. (luke 15) "my father is obsessed with the one who is lost."
prodigal son - run hard run fast run away. "no way God could love me... no way God could use me cause of all ive done."
Father. good dad. loved sons. established inheritance. taken good care of his boys. heartbroken when son claims inheritance. "you being alive is sorta messing up my life."
we want the fathers stuff, but we dont want the father.
sin does not deliver on its promises. when you detach yourself from God, you automatically attach yourself to somebody/something else. attached to God you have access to God, youre a son.daughter of God... when you detach yourself you become a slave to what you have chosen to attach yourself to. cause you have to keep up.
first step of repentance: come to your senses. when you detach yourself from God you lose you
my sin has major impact not only on my life, but also on those around me.
put myself at the fathers mercy.
pig slop and all... you just come home. hugs and kisses dont wait till you get cleaned up.
-- thursday --
wired for worship.
why christianity a checklist?
if the bad news aint that bad, than the good news aint that good.
dead and hopeless. we all follow satan. we deserve wrath. by nature we are objects of Gods wrath. sin destroys what he created and the plan he has to our lives. we are powerless to remove the noose.
...BUT GOD...
by grace. rich in mercy. in love.
he doesnt tell you what you need to do, he gives you what you need. this is BUT GOD... not SO YOU...
when we stand before God we will say, "YOU saved me... YOU made it possible." when we were helpless, God came and died for us. sine was judged and forgiven all at the cross... all at the same time.
God pursues me with his grace. offers grace, freedom and forgiveness, love and mercy... when what we really deserve is his wrath.
God transforms me from an object of his wrath to a trophy of His grace.
God didnt take bad people and make them good people. he took dead people and made them alive people.
